Soho Radio

It’s been three years since Soho Radio began broadcasting – a hectic 3 years that has seen over 6000 shows aired and over 100 presenters.

We begun with the bare bones, and built up a radio station from scratch, gaining some incredible presenters and talent along the way. From takeovers to guest appearances, the likes of Stephen Fry, Public Enemy, Nigella Lawson, Suggs, Martin Freeman, Mark Ronson, Annie Mac, Caitlin Moran, Michael Kiwanuka, Peter Serafinowicz, Lee Fields, Seth Troxler, Swiss Beats, Izzy Bizu, Linton Kwesi Johnson + more have dropped by to our Great Windmill Street studio.

Soho Radio has broadcasted live from Lagos Jazz Festival, Bestival, Festival No 6, SXSW + more. We’ve DJed on the ice at Somerset House, threw some incredible shop warming parties and hosted our very own nights at various clubs in London.

This year we are taking Soho Radio on the road again, in our brand new van, cramming in many more live streams from festivals and events. We span purely vinyl atop a double decker bus at the Classic Car Boot Sale in April. We are off to Bestival, as well as Citadel, Dreamland Margate, Ally Pally and British Summer Time festival. At BST we shall be hosting our very own line-up on the Barclaycard Stage, with the Soho Radio All Stars providing the music. We will also be setting up home for the week in Hyde Park and broadcasting the shows live from our new Soho Radio van. We will announce more information on this soon.

In 2016 we were awarded Best Online Radio Station in the Mixcloud awards. There are heaps of incredible online radio stations at present, and we are truly honoured to have won this award.

We launched Soho Radio Studios, an all encompassing studios, offering an array of audio services. Hidden directly below Soho Radio, we specialise in VO and podcast recording, sound design and Virtual Reality audio; delivering a fully immersive 3D audio experience. Click the studios tab to have a nosey at our facilities.

Sadly, this year has seen the passing of the beautiful and talented Tom Edwards. Tom was with us from day one, presenting his Rock Hard In The Morning show with friend Ewan Bruce. Tom will always be a member of the Soho Radio family, and is sorely missed.

The Soho Radio shop space has been filled with a variety of ventures over the three years. Edwyn Collins, Robert Rubbish and Pete Fowler plastered our walls with their incredible artwork – coffee galore has been flowing – we even had a pop-up cactus shop at Christmas. The space has always welcomed listeners and passer-bys to come in and witness Soho Radio live.

Our most recent venture sees us collaborating with Jagermeister, to create truly unique content. The partnership forms JagerSoho – a series of radio shows, live vinyl sessions and creative residences. Over the coming months, expect pop-up residences and events, in the newly refitted shop adjoining the radio studio.

We will also be hosting the Soho Radio Vinyl Sessions, where bands and artists of every genre will perform live in our dedicated performance space, and have their sessions cut direct to vinyl, for all to witness. We have had our very own bespoke lathe hand built for these sessions by the ever talented Lewis Durham.

Thank you for all the support and love we have received over the last three years. We will continue to broadcast quality radio for your listening enjoyment.

Here’s to the next part of our journey.

Big love from the Soho Radio family x
