Rui Da Silva saw his music leap from club to radio when his song Touch Me became an international number one single. Producer, Engineer, Remixer, DJ, Programmer and now also Film Composer. Very few people manage to combine genuine underground respect with commercial success, but Portuguese Rui Da Silva has managed just that.
Rui is continuously trying to push boundaries and moving forward, as he puts it, “trying to change the sound and evolve as staying still gets me bored”.
Over the years he’s also notched up a broad array of collaborations including Underground Sound of Lisbon with DJ Vibe and Coco Da Silva with Chris Coco, NYLX with Danny Tenaglia, amongst others and more recently his Lisbon Kid Balearic project with Danny De Matos. Other notable notches on his belt include label owner – Kismet Records – DJ and general computer whizz. He’s also a man who’s never satisfied, constantly looking to learn and re-learn music-making science and skills. with his “Soho Nights” radio show Rui presents the more cutting edge underground music pushing deep, house and techno that are a crucial part of his rare live djsets and enabling a much wider audience to be introduced to these sounds that otherwise would only be available to a selected few fortunate enough to witness one of his much rare dj sets, so if you were not lucky enough to catch him playing at DC10 in Ibiza, Fabric in London Kazanttip or the odd nuclear bunker in Russia now is your chance to follow this legendary man on Soho Radio every weekend.
